Donation FAQ

How do I make a donation?

To pledge to a campaign, just click the red “Fund This Campaign” button on any campaign page. You will be asked to enter your donation amount and select a reward. From there, you will go through the WePay checkout process. Note that you must finish the WePay checkout process for your donation to be recorded and processed.

Do I need a WePay account in order to donate to a project?

No, you do not need a WePay account but it makes things easier! (WePay is free to sign up for, to sign up, click here. If you still rather just pay with a credit / debit card, choose “Pay with a credit or debit card” on the WePay page. Jewcer uses WePay for all the transactions (even if you are not using a WePay account). WePay secures all transactions.

When I make a donation, when do I get charged?

Immediately. If you make a contribution to a campaign that is using the donation model, your credit card will be processed immediately and the funds get transferred to the project manager's WePay account within a few hours.  

What happens if my credit card is declined?

 If your credit card is declined for any reason, Jewcer will notify the funder and ask him/her to try and donate again.

Is my donation amount publicly displayed?

 If you choose so, yes! Be proud of your contribution to a Jewcer campaign. You are helping our community become stronger and more connected.

Can I donate anonymously?

 Yes, funders (jewcers) can choose to make their identity and/or amount of their contribution anonymous. However, we encourage you to be proud of your donation to a Jewcer campaign, and share it with your friends! We value the people in the Jewcer community and hope you’ll connect with other jewcers.

When I make a donation, does the project innovator receive my information?

Project innovators can see all the public Jewcer information such as your name, the amount of your contribution, and the reward you selected. If you chose to make the contribution anonymous, the project innovator will not see your information.

Can I cancel a donation?

By donating, you are committing to supporting a campaign and you will not be able to receive a refund for your donation. 

Is my donation tax deductible?

Your donation is tax deductible only if the project innovator provides you with a receipt and proof that their campaign is being sponsored by a fiscal agent or is a 501c3 and providing the tax deductible receipt. 

Can people from outside the U.S. donate to campaigns?

Yes! Anyone, anywhere (with a major credit card and/or WePay account) can pledge to Jewcer campaigns.

Can I pay with a check? Send cash by mail?

At this time, Jewcer can only process payments through WePay, that can be done easily through a WePay account or using a debit or a credit card.
