Our Idea
While missles are being launched at Israeli civilians every hour now, we first think of the most important thing, their safety. But once families are safe in bomb shelters, waiting out the barrage of explosions, they have to sit, maybe for hours with very little to do. Families need to distract themselves from the fear of this violence and it is important they are able to do this together. Children will be missing time in school and they need something more than television to keep their minds learning and engaged. So, we'd like to raise money in order to supply as many bomb shelters as possible with fun and educational games for children and adults alike.
We're working on this project as a team of people from around the U.S. who want to help. This project is sponsored by Jewcer.com partners, Amir Give'on and Naomi Leight. All proceeds will go directly to the cause of bettering the lives of those affected by the situation in Israel.

The impact we want to make
When people think of conflict and war, they think immediately of the worst-case-scenarios, death and casualties. However, there is another component that is often overlooked, the terror and anxiety in the moment. Some of the best ways to combat these types of stress are through music and art. However, in shelters, it is hard to do much because of the small space and many people. Therefore, we thought games would be the best way to combat the fear. Children and families will be able to keep their minds off of war if they are able to enjoy the extra time together. So, we want to bring games to as many public bomb shelters as possible to help families pass the time, stay connected to each other, have fun and maybe even learn something too!
What we plan to do with the funds
Our goal is to collect at least $1,000 to purchase games, such as Rummikub, Guess Who, Connect 4, Taboo, Bingo, Trivia and more, from an Israeli game company. Each game costs between 40 and 140 shekels each, or between 15 and 45 dollars. We'd like to be able to purchase at least a few dozen games, to distribute throughout public bomb shelters in southern Israel.
